About Gelica
Gelica has a profound understanding of the challenges faced by adults aged 16 and older, including the elderly, who are navigating the complexities of trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, workplace-related stress, and burnout. Her practice often includes first responders and frontline workers—such as doctors, nurses, paramedics, police officers, and teachers—who are frequently exposed to intense stress and trauma in their professions. With a deep commitment to her clients, Gelica offers a safe, supportive space where they can explore their experiences and work toward healing and growth.

Gelica’s approach to therapy is collaborative, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive. She prioritizes her clients' sense of safety, needs, history, and cultural backgrounds, ensuring that each session is tailored to their unique circumstances. Her therapeutic methods include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Mindfulness-Based Approaches, and the Gottman Method for couples therapy. Specialized Experience
Gelica's work as a psychiatric emergency nurse during the COVID-19 pandemic has given her firsthand insight into the emotional and psychological toll of high-stress work environments. This experience, combined with her specialized training, enables her to empathize deeply with clients experiencing vicarious trauma and other mental health concerns related to their work. Her lived experience as a healthcare provider during such a challenging time informs her empathetic, effective approach to therapy.
Personal Background
Born and raised in the Philippines, Gelica immigrated to Canada with her family, where she has since built a life rooted in service to others. Her passion for mental health care is complemented by her love of travel, having explored over 30 countries, which has broadened her understanding of diverse cultures and perspectives. Outside of her professional life, Gelica enjoys learning new languages, cooking, hiking, and practicing yoga. She values maintaining a positive mindset and finds joy in exploring different cuisines, spending time outdoors, and staying active through biking and running.
